We're excited to announce that reservations for The Yarram Table are now live!
The project celebrates Yarram & District outstanding local producers through a seven-course degustation dinner, curated by Anthony Wiggy Wignall at the Yarram Country Club. Each course showcases seasonal ingredients sourced from local growers, farmers, fishers and artisan producers from across the region.
There are only 80 seats available, so we expect bookings to fill quickly. See attached for the poster (and menu!). Please book here: https://yarramcountryclub.au/event/the-yarram-table/
The dinner is part of a broader community project developed through the Building Resilient Forestry Communities Leadership Program, which Paula Mathewson, Jason Pickering and I have been participating in over the past ten months. Our longer-term vision is to create a lasting legacy through yarram.org.au by connecting people with local producers, businesses, community groups and volunteer opportunities throughout Yarram and District. So look out for that!
We hope you'll be able to join us for what promises to be a wonderful evening celebrating local food, local producers and our community.
If you know someone who would enjoy the evening, please feel free to forward this invitation.

Free Seniors Planning and Information Sessions Coming to Port Albert. Helping South Gippsland seniors plan with confidence, stay informed and connect with their community
The Port Albert Progress Association (PAPA), in partnership with the Council on the Ageing Victoria (COTA Victoria), is inviting older residents across South Gippsland to attend a series of free Seniors Planning and Information Sessions designed to provide practical advice, trusted information and valuable community connections.
As we age, understanding the services, support and planning options available becomes increasingly important.
As such, these friendly and informative sessions have been developed to help older people, their families and carers navigate the many decisions that come with ageing while providing an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and connect with others in the community.
The sessions will cover a broad range of topics including:
- Planning for Change – preparing for future life stages and making informed decisions.
- Introduction to My Aged Care – understanding how the aged care system works and how to access support.
- Seniors Health and Wellbeing – exploring the health and wellbeing priorities of older people in our community.
- Memory and Ageing – understanding normal memory changes and recognising when professional advice may be beneficial.
- Preventing and Responding to Scams – practical strategies to identify and avoid increasingly sophisticated scams.
- Your Digital Legacy – planning for your online accounts, digital information and personal records.
Growing older brings new opportunities as well as new challenges. These sessions are about giving people practical information, helping them plan ahead with confidence and ensuring they know where to turn for support when they need it.
Event Dates:
- Friday 21 August 2026 (11am to 1pm)
- Tuesday 20 October 2026 (11am to 1pm)
For more information and to book your place, visit the Seniors Planning and Information Sessions program website page using the link below or call Rob Durrant 0413 476423 or Sandra-Lee Davis on 0403 819183.
