Carrajung Cup heading South ?

 

Intermittent showers looked like dampening Saturday’s individual stableford with sixty competitors teeing off , including Traralgon’s contingent (10) for the first round of the 2025 Carrajung Cup.

With the sun breaking through , Ken Bird (25) had a terrific round to record 41 points to win overall and C grade following his stellar round and to cap off his good day Ken also collected the vets award.

Dylan Skarratt (12) led the way in A grade with 38 points.

Dan Dwyer (18) a nice return to form , 39 points won the B Grade award.

Trevor Thommers (28) refreshed after his successful fishing getaway , won D Grade with 37 points.

DTL awards went to Kevin Reed 39, Justin Staley 37, John Skarratt 36, Lukas Jenkins 36, Chris Barclay 35, Bill Reid 35, Chris Pettitt 35, Will Hanrahan ( Traralgon )35, Dan Macey 35, Jeff Buckland 34 and Gary Ward 34 points also recognized.

Justin Staley won the NTP on 1, Paul McAninly the money on 15 and Brett McKnight (Meeniyan) got closest on 7 and 18 with a couple of nice shots.

The Yarram team for the first round of the Carrajung Cup, included four of the Club’s newer members, who all performed admirably , have a handy 36 point lead at the conclusion of day one of competition.

Justin Staley a fine 37 points , Lukas Jenkins 36, Dan Macey 35, Peter Biggs 33, Paul McAninly 33, Scott Leggett 32 and Richie Egan 30 points all played consistently with the local combination heading to Traralgon on Saturday hoping to maintain their form and reverse their narrow 10 point loss from 2024.

Tuesday Ladies Day

Sharelle Roberts (23) playing consistently was the victor in Tuesday’s par event with a score of plus 1.

Dulcie Beer , Jen Nickell and Di Foat followed, all with minus 1 and Frankie Maclennan was next best with a score of minus 2.

Tuesday Mens Stableford

Chris Barclay (14) had a day out with 40 points to easily win the Stableford event.

Paul McAninly 35, Joe Razinger 34, Dan Macey 34, Brian Busk 32, Dylan Rash 32 and Bill Reid 32 points followed.

Tuesday Nine Hole

Super veteran, Frank Baggaley led the way with 14 points on C/B edging out Lois Gronow and Glenys Ljubic with both Ladies also scoring 14 points.

Sunday Nine Hole .

Well done to youngster Tate Jenkins who scored 18 points to win the voucher with Brayden Askew 16 points next best.
