The Annual Yarram Plate attracted a maximum filed of 120 golfers comprising 30 teams from 12 Gippsland Golf Clubs with the local combination of Scott Leggett, Cliff Moore, Graham Underwood and Warren Vincent combining impressively to finally return the coveted AKZ Engineering Plate, to the local Club, after an absence of several years.

Graham Underwood 37, Scott Leggett 35 and Warren Vincent 30 points led way with Yarram’s total on 102 points .Then Cliff Moore’s 27 points broke the tied scores from Drouin also on 102, with the local combination acknowledged as the victorious team on C/B.

At the packed Clubhouse Presentations , Club President , Bill Reid thanked Brad Smith from AKZ Engineering who have generously sponsored the Yarram Plate event for a remarkable 51 years.

In the individual events, Shane Bruce won scratch with 81 off the stick on C/B.

Foster’s Peter Furborough (8) led the way in A Grade with 35 points on C/B.

Paul Hobson (13) backed up from his win on Saturday to win again with 35 points on C/B in B grade.

Kane Lathan (18) led the way in C grade with 35 points.

Graham Underwood (25) making an impact on his return to the fairways played a crucial role in the team’s overall victory winning D Grade with a fine 37 points.

Local players , Harry Barlow and Peter Biggs won DTL balls, Paul Hobson the NTP on 7 and Kevin Flett was delighted to win the NTP on 18 to wrap up a very successful day for the Club.

Saturday’s Medley Stableford

Paul Hobson (13) tuned up nicely for Sunday’s Plate to win overall and A Grade with 39 points.

Brendan Farley (17) got the nod in B grade with 35 points.

Brian Busk (24) prevailed in C Grade with 34 points.

Suzie Davis (48) also played consistently with 35 points to be awarded the D Grade voucher.

DTL awards went to John Skarratt 36, Joe Razinger 34, Chris Pettitt 34, Tate Jenkins 33, Neil O’Connell 33, Rick Rogers 33 and Chris Andertson on 32 points.

Joe Foat won the NTP on 7, Bill Reid the money on 15 and a birdie ball prize and Murray Foat again won the NTP on 18.

Paul Hobson won the vets event and Peter Jenkins also a birdie ball prize getting down in two on 15.

Saturday also saw the 2025 final of the fourball match play competition with Rick Rogers and Allen Baggaley playing David Cooper and partner Jared Thomas.

A terrific contest with fortunes changing throughout and after 18 holes the match was all square.

The deadlock was finally broken with David and Jared prevailing to win the coveted honor board event on the 19th following an engrossing match.

Tuesday’s Ladies Day

A nice win for Joy Darby (44) in Tuesday’s par event with a score of plus one.

Di Foat square, Barb Cox minus2, Janine Butler and Joy Lowe with both Ladies on minus three followed.

Lois Gronow with 19 points led the way in the nine hole event.

Mens Stableford

Welles Jenkins (22) blew the field away with a stunning 43 points with his playing partners believing a single figure handicap for the power full ball striker awaits in the near future.

Thomas Lawrence 39, Dean Summerfield 35, Mark Goulden 35, Dylan Skarratt 34 and Brian Busk 34 points followed.
