RAAF East Sale support Festival

RAAF East Sale bringing big rig heading to Yarram for Festival

The Tarra Festival Committee and RAAF Base East Sale have been working together for weeks to have a presence at this years Festival.

Due to Anzac commitments in the week following Easter, they were unable to supply a fly over or their marching band, but will instead supply a static display of a Australian Rheinmetall MAN 40 M truck which will be position at the intersection of Commercial Road and Rogers Streets.

The Festival committee are extremely grateful for the effort the Australian Defence Force have put into securing this vehicle for their Festival.

“We approached the Australia Defence Force and they were so helpful,” a Tarra Festival spokesperson said.

“They explained that due to Anzac Day commemoration and the fact that the Festival was not a ceremonial occasion they could not supply a fly over and their Defence Force Band had commitments elsewhere, but they would try and get a static display for us,” they said.

“It took a lot of leg work by they, but they came through and we are sure that it will be a big hit with the kids and adults alike”.

With special permits now obtained to drive the vehicle on the local roads, this monster will hit the road on Saturday morning and take its place in the street at the Tarra Festival.
