MONSTER TRUCKS ARE COMING

Monster Trucks X is roaring into the Latrobe Valley this February, delivering world first stunts, home grown talent, and a full weekend of high octane entertainment -  proudly created and run by locals, for locals.
Monster Trucks X (MTX) Traralgon will take over Traralgon racecourse on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February 2026, delivery two huge days of high octane, family friendly entertainment - ran and organised by lifelong Hazelwood North residents and father and son team CEO Monster Trucks Pty Ltd  Sam Xuereb and COO, Monster Trucks Pty Ltd
Michael Xuereb, who have dedicated their lives to motorsport and the Gippsland community.
In addition to their deep community roots, Sam and Michael  are internationally recognised for their achievements in motorsport. The pair are world record holders, including the longest wheelie ever performed in a monster truck, and Michael holds the record for the longest jump in a UTV.
Their expertise extends beyond the arena, with the team contributing to the film industry recently building specialised vehicles for the Mad Max: Furiosa production.
Michael is also the first Australian driver to successfully perform a monster truck moonwalk, cementing his place among the most skilled and innovative drivers in the country.

"Attempting the reverse moonwalk in front of a live crowd is something no one in the world has done. Performing it here, at home, in front of our own community, means everything." Michael said
What makes MTX Traralgon stand out is not just the monster trucks, it’s the heart and hometown pride behind every part of the event.
Sam stated that after building and establishing the monster trucks in 1999 at Hazelwood North, he’s “incredibly proud to watch his sons deliver a home-grown show, in our backyard”.

“Even after performing in international arenas and even movie sets, there is nothing like watching the kids in your local community enjoy the trucks and the show.” Michael said.
The show will feature some of Australia’s most powerful monster trucks, including custom built machines created or modified right here in Gippsland. Audiences will witness massive jumps, wheel stands, stunt driving and world first attempts, including Michael’s bid to complete the world’s first ever reverse wheelie in front of a live crowd - a stunt successfully trialled at home on the family property in Hazelwood North.
With a strong focus on supporting local businesses, workers and suppliers, MTX aims to inject economic activity back into the Latrobe Valley while providing families with a thrilling, affordable day out close to home.

Event highlights include

  • Five monster trucks, including unique custom builds such as a wheelie jeep, a restored Stuart tank, and the world’s first and only Monster Ball - all built or modified in Gippsland.

  • Worldfirst stunts, including Michael’s reverse wheelie attempt.

  • Locally owned food vendors and business partners, including Missen Link, BMX stunt team, Area 365 Fitness, The Daily Café Morwell, Gippsland Water and more.
