Yarram v Heyfield

25 points separated Yarram and Heyfield when the siren sounded with Heyfield the victors.  But the game could have gone either way with Yarram showing their supporter that they can match it with the top teams.

In a entertaining match, Yarram were on top early in the match with their backline working overtime to create many turn overs, unfortunately their forwards were unable to capalise.  Yarram by two points at the first change.

It was tight in the second quarter as well as the Yarram backline continued to play  desperate football.  Both sides had the same amount of scoring shots with the margin remaining two points in favour of the home side as the teams hit the change rooms at the long break.

Heyfield seemed more organised after the long break.  Heyfield by nine points at the final change.

As the teams headed out for the final quarter the game was up for grabs.  It was the more experienced Heyfield who were able to capalise on their opportunities.  The final margin 25 point.

Max Van Der Zwart stepped up in the second half to lead his team to victory with Mitchell Bennet breaking the shackles of his opposite number to kick five crucial goals for the visitors

Yarram Liam Bentley enjoyed another great game.  Kaleb Pearce was the home sides only multiple goal scorer with two goals next to his name.

The win sees Heyfield comfortable in comfortable third position on the NGFNL with 32  points – eight points clear of fourth placed YYN  whom they play in round 14 and a game behind Woodside in second spot.

Yarram will take on Cowwarr at Yarram next week and will be hoping they can return to the winners list.
