WOODSIDE’S netballers were left to reflect on a challenging day of finals action, with narrow losses in B and D grades and a difficult contest against Heyfield in C grade.

In D grade, the Wildcats pushed Sale City throughout an entertaining encounter before falling 41-37.

Rikki-Lee Bonnice led Woodside’s scoring with 21 goals, while Erin Henderson added 16 as the Wildcats remained within striking distance.

Sale City ultimately found enough in the closing stages to secure a four-goal victory and keep its finals campaign moving.

Woodside faced a tougher assignment in C grade, where Heyfield proved too strong, winning 40-19.

Brydie Hurrell and Billie Kee scored seven goals each for the Wildcats, while Sammie Sykes contributed five.

The B-grade contest provided another closely fought battle, with Sale City holding off Woodside 42-39.

Lisa Booth was Woodside’s leading scorer with 24 goals, supported by Sasjia Eenjes, who added 14.

Ruby Dillon played a decisive role for Sale City, accounting for 24 of her team’s 42 goals.

In A grade, Churchill secured its place in the second semi-final with a hard-fought 38-35 victory over Sale City.

The junior finals also produced tight finishes, with Glengarry defeating Traralgon Tyers United 29-27 in the under-15s.

TTU enjoyed success in the under-17s, overcoming Yallourn Yallourn North 35-32 to round out a competitive day on the netball courts.
