Glengarry powers past Yarram

Yarram endured a difficult afternoon against a dominant Glengarry, suffering a 115-point defeat.

The Demons made a promising start by kicking the opening goal of the match despite Glengarry controlling much of the possession.

Daniel Vardy added Yarram’s second before Glengarry’s Ben Truin finally found the major opening. Ben Vardy responded with the Demons’ third goal, but Glengarry kicked four more to lead 5.3 (33) to 3.0 (18) at quarter-time.

From there, Yarram found the going increasingly tough. Glengarry’s determination and confidence grew as the match progressed, although some inaccurate kicking initially prevented the margin from blowing out.

Glengarry led by 25 points at half-time before breaking the contest open with a 10-goal third quarter.

The home side continued its dominance in the final term, adding another eight goals to complete a comprehensive 25.12 (162) to 7.5 (47) victory.

Kiefer Sutherland led Yarram’s efforts, with Luke Hunter, Daniel Vardy, Benjamin Vardy, Toby Mitchell and Cohen Farley also named among the Demons’ best.
