Heartbreak for Yarram

YARRAM came agonisingly close to advancing in the NGFNL netball finals, falling to TTU by just one goal in a 45–44 heart-stopper.

The red and white faithful turned out in force to support Yarram’s B Grade side, creating a lively atmosphere as the two teams battled for their finals survival.

There was little separating the sides throughout the contest, with Yarram fighting until the final whistle before TTU held on to secure the narrowest of victories.

While the result brought Yarram’s campaign to a heartbreaking end, the season has provided the club with plenty to celebrate.

After enduring several difficult years, Yarram netball found renewed hope through the performances of its B Grade team under coach Jenny Bland.

The side showed enormous determination simply to reach the finals, producing one of its best performances of the season in the final home-and-away round when victory was essential to secure a finals berth.

Although their finals journey ended sooner than hoped, Yarram’s courage and fighting spirit ensured it was a season to remember—and one that could provide the foundation for an even stronger campaign next year.
