Yarram's B Grade side produced the standout result of the day with a convincing 47-35 victory over Churchill, while the club's younger teams showed encouraging signs despite falling short on the scoreboard.

B Grade

Yarram delivered one of its most complete performances of the season, defeating Churchill 47-35 with a polished display across the court.

Strong ball movement, disciplined positioning and relentless defensive pressure laid the foundation for the win. The Wing Defenders created plenty of pressure, forcing errors that allowed the defenders to swoop on loose passes.

The midcourt worked tirelessly to deliver quality ball into the shooting circle, where Rachel and India were in outstanding touch, converting their opportunities with confidence.

Lilli S and Maddi shared the best-on-court honours for their defensive efforts, while Sharnie received the team spirit award after an energetic performance highlighted by fierce attack on the ball and precise delivery into the goal circle.

C Grade

Churchill proved too strong for Yarram in C Grade, claiming a 42-19 victory.

Despite the result, Yarram created plenty of defensive opportunities through intercepts, rebounds and forced turnovers. However, the side was unable to capitalise consistently, with unforced errors proving costly.

Tahls and Sharelle again impressed in the shooting circle with their movement and accuracy, while the team thanked Sharelle, Nat and Mesh for stepping in to assist.

Best players were Nat, Sharelle and Tahls.

D Grade

Yarram's D Grade side went down 49-11 after a slow start against Churchill.

The contest improved as the game progressed, with the defensive unit producing a determined effort and the attacking end settling into the match after quarter time.

Coaches praised the team's continued improvement in confidence, skills and overall development throughout the season.

Awards went to Jas Heriot, Alex Watkins and Mariah Armstrong.

17 & Under

The scoreboard may have read Churchill 43, Yarram 27, but it did little to reflect the quality of the contest.

Yarram produced one of its strongest performances of the season, applying consistent defensive pressure to create numerous turnovers and rebounds.

Charlotte Sumner was outstanding in Goal Defence, providing a reliable presence throughout the game, while the versatile midcourt rotated seamlessly, with Evie Charles impressing across Wing Attack, Centre and Wing Defence.

Manawa Apiata starred with a series of clean intercepts through excellent anticipation and movement.

Best players were Charlotte Sumner, Manawa Apiata and Evie Charles.

15 & Under

Yarram showed plenty of promise despite a 58-7 loss to Churchill.

The home side matched Churchill early, trading goals during an encouraging opening before turnovers from rushed passing allowed the visitors to gain control.

After making defence a major focus at training, the girls put their new skills into practice with a strong defensive display. Their goals came through some impressive passages of play as the ball moved smoothly down the court.

The coaches also experimented with several combinations in both attack and defence as they searched for the best match-ups against an unpredictable opponent.

Best players were Navy, Kittie and Ella.
